ABOUT THE SPY
The Spy has been an Oklahoma icon since the 1970's. Loosely defined as "Alternative," it draws many labels such as “College”, “Indie” and “New Rock” but is so much more.
In addition to providing an independent alternative to big radio, The Spy also has 15 specialty shows, attracting audiophiles who are curious about discovering obscure gems in classic alternative, punk, post-punk, New Wave, rockabilly, blues, country, garage, dance, goth, reggae, dub, ska, roots and the lifeblood of The Spy – local artists. These specialty shows set us apart from traditional corporate radio.
As music tastes become increasingly 'niche', The Spy curates a roster of shows with something for everyone: entertainment with an educational hook and a little historical frame of reference provided by the show hosts. In the Internet age, you can find any song at a moment's notice – but how do you find quality new music, and find more of the music you love? The Spy is bridging that gap as a filtering agent, thanks to our knowledgeable show hosts and DJs.
The Spy also introduces our loyal listeners to the hip homegrown businesses in the metro. And most importantly, The Spy gives Oklahoma's rich, thriving music culture a voice.
You can listen to The Spy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the Tune-In app, iTunes radio, Roku, and more. You can also listen to The Spy from 7pm to 5am on KOSU at 91.7 Oklahoma City, 107.5 Tulsa, 88.3 Stillwater, and 94.9 Ponca City. This incredible and unique partnership affords us a great flexibility to play what our listeners want to hear while attracting new listeners every day.
